Terry Gilliam. In many ways it's about the clash between reality and imagination. On the one hand in the story of the movie itself but on the other hand reality intruding because of Heath Ledger's death during production. Gilliam's solution was quite imaginative.
Reality is a problem for Gilliam's work a lot of the time. Money, weather, actor's health. But looking back imagination wins out.
